December 2020 Update

December 26, 2020 //  by Deborah Thompson//  Leave a Comment

CalWear is busy!!

While we are all praying for our broken girl Zoey… there is so much more going on behind the scenes that it is hard to thank each and every one of you for your help. We want to thank every person for their heartfelt donations the last couple day’s for Zoey’s care. We haven’t forgotten you. It will put a huge dent in the upcoming treatment, surgery and rehab of this poor girls battered body. She’s barely begun on her long, painful journey but thanks to all of you it is possible. We will update as we know more. Her surgical consult is Monday as we are praying her infection goes away to be able to go ahead with whatever surgery is then recommended.
So what else have we been up to? Suede found his forever family today! Yippee!! We had transport relays, two more dogs to pick up and the highlight of the day was the rehoming of yet another blind boy we’ve been working on for months.

His name is Ray. Adopted through Craigs List from a backyard breeder. His new owners thought it was normal puppy shortsightedness that had him bumping into things. Ultimately they found he was entirely blind! The family was already in love so gladly kept him and poured love ❤️ onto him. Fast forward and in comes two legged baby… not a great match for an 85 pound blind dog. Now a newborn is due any minute. We’ve been working on this dog for several months while the owners vacillated thinking just maybe they could make it work. In the end they just couldn’t risk injury to the babies and tearfully opted to surrender him. Lots of tears as they said their goodbyes to Ray and he begins his journey today to a brand new home. His adopters dropped from heaven when we needed them most. So Ray goes on a 4 hour car ride to new scents unknown. Today. He will be ok. It will Be a learning experience but we’re confident his new family will help him get through it. So welcome Ray Ray to our Calwear family!! And a huge celebration to Suede with his new home!! Bittersweet day as we still try getting Zoey the care she deserves while the Rescue goes on overdrive. We can do all of this because of our fans support.

❤️, 🤗 and 😚 to our entire Calwear extended family. You all rock!!

December 3, 2020 //  by Deborah Thompson//  Leave a Comment

UPDATE!!! Thank you all for your support of CalWEAR! As of today Little miss priss Cota found her forever home!!! She has 2 four legged siblings who she adores and 2 two legged parents who adore her! You can see in the photos we added that she is already snuggling and enjoying sleeping in on this chilly Sunday Morning! CONGRATULATIONS COTA!!! ❤

Meet 8 month old Cota!!! Super active….. actively super…. loves to play with other dogs and kids alike. Her previous owner says she was raised with other dogs and a cat. She plays rough though so caution with small children as she can unknowingly knock them over. She is young so will need to be spayed. We’re still getting to know this little love bug so stay tuned!!! She will be adoptable soon! We will update when we know more! She will be fostered in San Diego area. Tell us why YOUR home would be perfect for her!
