Sammy
MEET SAMMY! Sammy is a 7 year old neutered male Weimaraner, and is up to date on all of his shots. His pet shop puppy paperwork indicates that his true birthday was 7/19/2009. Per Sammy’s former family, “We do not have the adequate space for Sammy, he spends his time in dog kennel (12×6) and backyard, since he is not allowed inside (we live with extended family who do not allow big dogs in the house) and there is no fenced yard. As my Mom’s health has deteriorated, she has also not been able to take him out as often as he needs, and he thus spends most of his time in the backyard. We know he deserves a family who can give him the adequate amount of time and space he needs.”
Sammy currently spends his day in the backyard and his nights in a kennel in the backyard. His new owner will have to work from the beginning with house training him so he understands that the right place to potty is OUTSIDE. Sammy also needs to work on his leash walking skills. The good news is that he’s very enthusiastic about his squeaky toys and LOVES to roll over on his back for belly rubs!!! In addition to “roll over,” Sammy also knows “sit” and “lay.”
Sammy is good with adults, older children, and other big dogs. Due to his exuberant nature, we don’t recommend that Sammy is placed in a home with very young children or small dogs. No cats, please.
