UPDATE - BENDER HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!!
MEET BENDER.
BENDER is one of SEVEN Weimaraners confiscated by Riverside County Animal Control in early August in an open case of abuse and neglect. On Sunday, August 8th, he busted out and made his way into foster care. (CalWEAR is working on getting the other six Weimaraners out of the shelter ASAP).
Immediately upon arrival, we figured out that that BENDER was GREAT with his four month old canine foster sister and a seven year old human foster sister. After about nine rounds of shampoo, the crusted grime on his coat finally came off. (!!!!) On his first night at his foster home, BENDER slept the whole night in the crate and didn’t ask to be let out to potty, at all.
BENDER is approximately 5-6 years old, gray, sweet, friendly, easy-going, and just wants to be loved. He’s currently underweight (from not being fed on a regular basis) but has recently discovered the joy of accepting treats from people. Due to COVID-19 and a current shortage of vet staff, BENDER was not neutered prior to his release, so this will be first on our agenda for him. He is, however, current on his shots.
Interested parties may submit an adoption application and meet with BENDER this week. Thank you!
