MEET BOGART.
Bogart’s family reached out to us for help because they were overwhelmed with taking care of ill family, as well as raising a newborn.
Bogart’s former family reported that he lived with, and was good with a chihuahua, but that he had not been around cats. He’s protective, and will bark at strangers, but has never bitten anyone. Bogart has been through a round of professional training for basic obedience and is used to being an outside dog.
…
In foster care, Bogart has demonstrated insecurity and excessive amounts of dominant humping, with both people and dogs. (We are working on this with him!) We are also suggesting that Bogart is placed in a home without other dogs to minimize opportunities for dominant humping.
CalWEAR expects that it will be a few weeks before Bogart is ready for placement. When he is, the best home for him will be one that is experienced with Weimaraners, able to provide firm and strong in corrections, and an advocate for crate training (Bogart needs this to keep his anxiety down).
Bogart is housebroken and up to date on his vaccinations and will be neutered before he is placed.
Please fill out an adoption questionnaire if you would like to consider Bogart. We’ll update here when he’s ready for adoption.
Thank you!
