DUKE UPDATE.

DUKE the “Weimaraner Tripod” has been freed from the Yucca Valley Shelter and is headed to his brand new family in San Jose!!! Just having a sleepover for one night made me realize that #1…. Duke is much more Dane than Weim!!! #2…why he was left behind in the Shelter is a mystery. He barely knows he has limitations…. and so what? He’s a Dane!? He’s still got part Weim…and I think the only part is his baby blue eyes. We have so much appreciation for Pilots N Paws pilot Shuman for giving Duke a much needed lift up north. An amazing man with such a huge heart!!! We also thank his new adoptive family for taking on a goofy, goober, slobbery tripod. Duke has officially been renamed Lucky by his two new human brothers. We look forward to photos and updates of Dukes new exciting “stable” life!!!! Welcome Lucky to our CalWEAR Family!!!!

MEET KATNISS.

Like the heroine of Hunger Games series, Ms. Everdeen is a survivalist. Katniss was picked out of a litter at the age of 5-6 weeks of age. She wasn’t eating at the time, but was ultimately nursed back to health by her new mamma.

A year later, here we are.

Simply put, Katniss is energetic. Enthusiastic. Runs on a full tank of gas. Pulls on a leash. Jumps like Tigger.

And her mamma realized that her lengthy work schedule and recent change in living sotuation was not good for either of them. It was out of love that she reached out to CalWEAR.

So now we ask our CalWEAR family…

Would anyone like to adopt a sweet, loving, black Weimaraner mix teenager who will trade basic obedience lessons for bedtime snuggles under the covers?! ❤️

Katniss is being fostered in Anaheim Hills, CA.

Long Beach Weim/Pit Bull Mix Needs Rescue

MEET SARA. Sara is a Weimaraner mix who was impounded as a stray. She had escaped once before (in August of this year) and Long Beach officers successfully reunited her with her owner. This time, she was brought to the shelter and no owner came to redeem her. She is very active and needs a new family.

Update: The shelter was able to place Sara before CalWEAR intervened.
