UDPDATE: SANDY HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!!
MEET SANDY.
This one gets filed under: #teamwork
Good Samaritan and independent rescuer Nelly Barajas shot a message out into the universe last week asking for someone to help this girl. Thank you CalWEAR village all for the tags and shares!!!! because we were finally able to able to connect the dots and pick her up tonight.
It was a very emotional pickup. Sandy’s former mom was very sad to load her up. I got in the car and rolled down the window to give her a moment to say goodbye. Tears fell after I drove down the street, started to turn left, and looked into the rear view mirror to see that Sandy’s former mom was still standing on the sidewalk, watching us drive away. Sandy was in the backseat crying for her. As typical with rescue, we will never know the whole story, and why Sandy couldn’t stay at home, but I feel in my heart that her mom wanted what was best for her, and that was a new life.
Sandy and I are currently sitting in the parking lot at the vets office waiting for our our turn to go inside and get our rabies vaccination. Next week, we’ll come back for a spay, and THEN look for an adoptive home.
It’s been less than an hour since we’ve met but I’ve been kissed, I’ve been licked, and I’ve been nuzzled. Welcome to CalWEAR, Sandra Dee!!!
