WHEN IT RAINS, IT POURS.
One of our girls stopped eating and drinking this week. Immediately knowing something was wrong, we asked Judy to take Sophie into the veterinarian for treatment and diagnoses.
After FOUR days and nights at the vet, Sophie is now checked out and resting. And she’s feeling so much better that she’s able to pay with others at the park!!!
Sophie has “Addison’s disease,” which is a hormonal disorder that is caused by a deficient production of the adrenal gland hormones, cortisol and aldosterone. With ongoing treatment of prednisone and a monthly hormone shot, Sophie is expected to live a normal life.
INTERESTED IN ADOPTING SOPHIE?! If you can commit to ongoing treatment and care, CalWEAR will 1) waive her adoption fee, and 2) sponsor her medication for the first 12 months. Her bio is on our website as well as our Facebook page.
INTERESTED IN HOW ELSE YOU CAN HELP?! Please spread the word about our work, and all the dogs in our care who need to be adopted. Those adoption fees will help us pay down Sophie’s bill, which as of tonight has not been paid.
FINALLY, THANK YOU TO JUDY FOR DROPPING EVERYTHING YOU HAD GOING ON THIS WEEK TO MAKE SURE SOPHIE WAS BEING TAKEN CARE OF.
With love and gratitude for your continued support,
- Team CalWEAR
