It’s been a little quiet around here, but…
MEET WILLIE NELSON.
This lil’ renegade was caught as a stray on the streets of Mexico, and with the help of Deanna Schultz, Pau Lopez, and transporter Erick, was brought into the loving arms of foster Sonny in San Diego, CA.
Foster Dad Sonny reports that Willie has a happy and cheerful attitude about him, has a very calm disposition, is house trained (hasn’t pottied in the house at all!), good on a leash, good around other dogs, doesn’t bark, like, at all, very curious about the world around him, snores when he snoozes, eats well and sleeps well.
Oh, and he’s about six months old.
Willie’s teeth and ears could also use a deep clean, and a sack of dirt came off of him when he was bathed. Willie is up to date on his shots but he does need to be neutered. We’ll make sure that gets done before he gets into a new home.
Interested in Willie?! CalWEAR has 41 applications on file from families interested in a male dog under the age of two. We will be reviewing each of those applications and start making some calls. We will exahaust that list first, before offering Willie to families who are applying now.
On the subject of applications, CalWEAR has a total of 95 applications on file for rescue Weimaraners. Recent placements have been to families who had their application submitted in February and March. If you’ve submitted an application in the last six months, please be assured that we have you on file; It’s just that we haven’t had an available dog come through that meets your search criteria yet. (Hey, that’s great, right?! Fewer Weimaraners need our help!!! ) We will call you as soon as we do.
