MEET RIVERSIDE COUNTY # A1565374.
We met our first 2020 intake on New Years Eve. By the time her stray hold period was up, no one had come for her. Due to the influx of dogs over the holidays, she was doubled up with a boxer. While those two got along fine, the Weimaraner seemed reactive and VERY STRESSED.
The shelter gave her a “yellow status”tag, which meant she was deemed medically sensitive. Horrible teeth, masses on her body, and a limp from a bad rear hip. Age or injury? No one knows.
Thanks to Wendy from Riverside, who busted her out of the shelter yesterday after work, her name is now NEELA.
So far, she’s good with the other dogs. She has no interest in the cat. She’s curious about the horse, but it didn’t freak her out.
FINGERS AND PAWS CROSSED NEELA BECOMES A QUICK “FOSTER FAIL” TALE!!!!!
We have much work to do in 2020, but we’re here and we’re ready.
Happy New Year from all of us at CalWEAR!!!
