KNOX UPDATE:
Greetings, CalWEAR Friends and Family!
Knox is on a slow path to healing and recovery. Since leaving the vet Saturday, he is requiring constant nursing and care from his foster dad, Charlie Heaton.
While Knox feels safe at home with his foster dad (and weim siblings), he needs coaxing to do his vet prescribed walks. Knox continues to experience some pain from his double ear infections, breaths heavily from his double pneumonia, and requires scheduled coupage sessions in a steamed room.
Our 7yo guy loves drinking water but he’s back to refusing to eat. Special menus (and runs to the grocery store) suggested by Team CalWEAR are not taking. He refuses everything from peanut butter, bacon, chicken, cheese (grated, string, and cubed), ground beef, deli meat, broth or fat on kibble, special dishes, and variety of dog treats/cookies. This means he’s being fed with assistance by Charlie.
The good news is Knox loves to cuddle and follows Charlie around the house. He wags his tails and offers kisses frequently, so we know he has a will and will get better. He has a scheduled follow-up vet visit on 4/21 to see his great team of vets and techs.
HELP NEEDED: As of this posting, Team CalWEAR has raised $1050 to cover the $2500+ vet bill from Knox’s recent vet visit and stay. If you are able to give $5.00 or any amount, Knox will give you a kiss. Donations may be offered via PayPal to donate@CalWEAR.org or Venmo at @CalWEAR. Even $5 will help. Please specify it’s for Knox.
Once Knox has recovered and is well, he will need a fur-ever home.
Applications are welcome!
