“I’m working from home this morning. Got the laptop cracked open on the kitchen counter. Lena periodically comes over and puts her head in my lap so I can pet her. Girl just wants LOVE. Who can blame her? ” -Kim/Lena’s Foster Mom

Morning report from LENA’s foster mom:
“LENA does NOT like being alone. I’m working from home this morning in the living room and she’s right behind my chair staring at me. If I get up to grab coffee from the kitchen, she follows me. If I leave out the front door, she waits by it until I get back. But I don’t consider it separation anxiety. She just patiently waits. No barking or drooling. Come to think of it, I’m not sure she’s uttered a single bark since being here. I also gave her a dried liver treat this morning. She didn’t know what to do with it and spit it out. I gave her another one. She ate it. Then she wanted more. Something tells me she hasn’t been given very many treats. She’s otherwise settling in very well. ZERO problems with the other dogs in the house, which range from 5 months to 9 years. We also haven’t crated her yet. We didn’t want to stress her, she’s just loose inside the house when we’re out. So far - She just sleeps on the sofa and waits for us to get back. (Noooo naughtiness!) Hoping to see some more personality as she gets comfortable being here.”

24 hours in. We like the sofa, don’t we? Quite the cushy landing compared to a backyard full of dirt.

From Deborah:
So, I am in the middle of my moving sale and a car pulls in with a couple ladies and a dog. The door opens and there sits the most sweet emaciated Weimaraner!! The ladies remembered my address from a couple years ago when this same female had puppies and they brought them to me because this mother wouldnt feed the puppies and they were starving. Long story short, now they were giving mom up to me!! Perfect timing since I am gone in a week…. or not!! Anyway, meet Lana. Very very sweet and going into Rescue today. 4 years young, spayed, brought up with kids. If interested she will be adoptable once vetted and healthy. Contact CalWEAR. This poor little girl just needs some love and attention. She spent the first four years of her life in a dirt backyard… lets make the rest of her life happier on someones couch!!
