Update: Lucas was adopted out of the shelter before rescue intervened. Happy trails, handsome!
MEET LUCAS.
Lucas came to Orange County Animal Care earlier this month. By visual exam, the shelter indicated that he appeared to be neutered. They also scanned him for a microchip, for which he was negative.
The shelter tried making Lucas available to the public but found he was selective with people. It appears he’s a fan of the ladies, but the gentlemen… not so much. (He barks at them, but hasn’t made any attempts to lunge or bite.) While the shelter volunteers and staff have been working with him, it’s obvious he’s stressed out (probably has never been kenneled before?) and needs our help to get into a home environment.
Lucas is STRONG. Loves to explore and check out his space. He knows SIT! And LAY DOWN! He likes to play fetch and was good with other dogs in his play group at the shelter.
CalWEAR is working on exiting Lucas as soon as possible. Our immediate plan is to take him “home,” and give him some time to decompress so we can learn more about him before making him available to the public.
STAY TUNED FOR MORE ABOUT THIS HANDSOME GUY!!!
