January 22, 2017:
To the friends of CalWEAR who GRACIOUSLY offered your hearts and home to Taylor (the 11 year old Weim who needed a new home), our love and gratitude. For now, rest easy knowing that this one gets to stay “home,” after all. Here’s a message from her family.
My family has been in tears since receiving your email yesterday. As soon as the reality set-in regarding the potential foster outlet, we realized we simply cannot bring ourselves to surrender our sweet dog. As trying and as difficult as our life may be right now, we are going to continue making the most of our current situation so that we can keep our family whole.
My sincerest apologies for the time and effort we drew from you, your kind and loving organization, resources and network. If I may ask that you kindly remove all solicitations/information regarding Taylor from your site(s), we would be most appreciative.
Thank you for all that you do to help support families of Weimeraners and for your willingness to help our family during this difficult time, even if the end result was simply helping us come to the realization we cannot break-up our family!
January 15, 2017 Update # 2:
What does the new family need to know? “Honestly, she is the best dog we have ever had. She is very obedient, loves to please, has a very loving and gentle nature about her. We have NEVER had a single issue with her chewing something she wasn’t supposed to, etc. She will on occasion bark (1-2 times) at the UPS/FedEx when they come to the house to drop off a package or if there is a lizard or something hanging out in her dog run. But otherwise, I would not consider her a “barker.” This decision is with a heavy heart, but we hate seeing her neglected and would love nothing more than to know she is getting as much love and attention as she deserves. She is a sweetheart, and we are trying to do everything we can to ensure she is getting more in her life than we can provide to her — which includes frequent walks, dog park trips, play time at home, etc.”
