UDPDATE: SANDY HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!!

MEET SANDY. 🥰

This one gets filed under: #teamwork

Good Samaritan and independent rescuer Nelly Barajas shot a message out into the universe last week asking for someone to help this girl. Thank you CalWEAR village all for the tags and shares!!!! because we were finally able to able to connect the dots and pick her up tonight.

It was a very emotional pickup. Sandy’s former mom was very sad to load her up. I got in the car and rolled down the window to give her a moment to say goodbye. Tears fell after I drove down the street, started to turn left, and looked into the rear view mirror to see that Sandy’s former mom was still standing on the sidewalk, watching us drive away. Sandy was in the backseat crying for her. 😭 As typical with rescue, we will never know the whole story, and why Sandy couldn’t stay at home, but I feel in my heart that her mom wanted what was best for her, and that was a new life.

Sandy and I are currently sitting in the parking lot at the vets office waiting for our our turn to go inside and get our rabies vaccination. Next week, we’ll come back for a spay, and THEN look for an adoptive home.

It’s been less than an hour since we’ve met but I’ve been kissed, I’ve been licked, and I’ve been nuzzled. Welcome to CalWEAR, Sandra Dee!!! 😊

    Hi
Can you give me more information on Sandy. How much does she weigh? Does she have AKC papers? What is her personality like? What is she like in the car? Does she travel well? Is she good around children?

I won’t be in California until September. I had two weimaraner’s that passed away at almost 15 years old. One 2.5 years ago and the other just over two years ago. I am familiar with the breed.

I have been looking for a new family member for a while. I have been the mother to several Weimaraners and still have one (rescued many years ago). Duchy is now a health senior citizen. I would like more information about Sandy

    Hello,

Sandy seems wonderful, truly a dream dog!

I have lots of land for her to run around and to get lots of exercise in Topanga. Is she somewhere in Los Angeles area?

    Thank you,

    Ekaterina

I have 2 wimies both male about 4 years old and neutered, rescues and brothers from the same litter that were abandoned. We’ve had them for 3 years and we’re at the point where we would like a female companion that isn’t too large. Our two are 58 and 65 lb respectively and small in stature. We live in Western San Bernardino County
