August 26, 2017 UPDATE!!!
A big shout-out to Kristina A. for taking time out of her schedule yesterday to go meet the North LA Senior Weim and evaluate him on behalf of NorCal Weim Rescue. Of course, he’s sweet as pie. Love and gratitude also to NCWR for committing to him as well, since CalWEAR is unable to.
The last bit of the puzzle is finding a volunteer to pull him out of the shelter and get him to Santa Clarita, where he has a chauffeur willing and ready to get him up north.
Anyone out there who can do this on Tuesday morning?!
August 23, 2017:
FRIENDS OF CALWEAR: Thanks so much for caring enough to send us a message about this senior Weimaraner, Weimaraner Mix or Silver Labrador in North Los Angeles.
Our organization exists because WE ALWAYS WANT TO HELP. And please know that from time to time, we DO accept “Weim mixes,” (remember Scarlett?!) but due to our existing commitments to other multiple dogs in our care (ranging from 8 months to 11 years), we simply don’t have the capacity to take this guy on right now.
So how can YOU help US help HIM?!
- Volunteer your time to evaluate this boy in person. Let us know what you think of him.
- Open up your home to take him in.
- Open up your schedule to go get him.
- Commit to him that you can keep him with you for an indefinite amount of time. Know that he’ll probably be with you for the long haul.
- Love him unconditionally.
If you or anyone you know is able to do this as a volunteer for CalWEAR, we’ll commit to him in a heartbeat. But until that volunteer comes forward, our hands are tied.
Rescuing Weimaraners takes a village. We’re in (dire) need of more help. Please spread the word. And - Thank you for your understanding.
